From the obituary in "The Daily Standard," Celina, OH, March 9, 1938:
"Mrs. King was converted to the Christian faith when a young woman and fellowshipped into the membership of the Ohio City Church of God. Upon moving to Celina about 20 years ago, she transferred her letter and enjoyed the distinction of becoming a charter member of the present Celina Church of God. Sister King radiated the inward richness she found in serving her Lord and Master.
"Her life translated the precepts of the Bible into loving service. It can well be said that the beauty and holiness of her life was in itself a lasting testimony to the nearness of her life to God. Her many active years of association with the church were replete with kindly deeds and thoughtful acts of service. She thoroughly enjoyed her religion and constantly reflected its saving and keeping power.
"When physical confinement precluded her church attendance, her home became a bethel of light and comfort to the friends who came to pray and sing with her. Even in the throes of pain and distress, her celestial smile and ready testimony evidenced the assurance that her faith was kindled by the fires of trial.... Like the Apostle Paul, she met her affliction with patient endurance, and truly carried her cross until God exchanged it for a crown."
Funeral Rites Sunday Afternoon For Mrs. King
Rev. Tennyson Guyer conducted funeral services on Sunday afternoon at the First Church of God for the late Mrs. Frank King who passed away at her home on West Logan Street. The male quartet, C.A. Stubbs, F.R. Collins, Edson Hoel, and Dale Baer with Mrs. C.D. Rice at the piano sang the beautiful hymns. The many lovely floral tokens of esteem were in charge of Mrs. Charles Siler, Mrs. Arthur Siler, Mrs. Harold Murlin, Mrs. Charles Felver, Mrs. William Monroe and Mrs. Chloe Hoenie. Bearing the pall to its final resting place in the Ohio City Cemetery were Floyd Houts, John M. Hale, Ray Monroe, Irvin Armstrong, Melvin Shively and Harvey Beougher.
