Maya was a sweet cat, so very affectionate. I never met a cat like her before. We got from someone I went to CNA school with. When we moved into our new home in the Summer of 2005, we lost her and were unable to find her. The same fate befell her brother Magick who by this time wanted to be an outside cat at all times. He never liked the new neighborhood and we think he was ill, despite vet care when he needed it. Maya would have been 9 this past April.
She loved tomato sauce and loved lunch meat since her first family gave her that a lot. Maya's mother died before we got her, she was bit by a rattlesnake. After that, I was asked if I wanted Maya too. I named her Maya because I read in a names book that one of the meanings of the name Maya was "God's creative Power". I thought it would honor Him and the Gift he gave me by bringing pets into my life who filled my days with such undescribable joy. We already had gotten Magick. We said yes and picked her up the Summer of 1997.
They got along very well and never fought or had a spat once in their life. They were just peaceful, loving cats who touched our lives for 8 years.
Maya loved the family dogs and would always greet them with little meows, she did the same whenever she saw us especially in the mornings. She was a cute cat.
