OBITUARY

Herman Frederick Gerard Antholz, 53, died Wednesday at his home outside of McDonald, Kan.

He was born on Feb. 4, 1953, in Atwood, to Carl and Rita (Pianalto) Antholz. He attended grade school at McDonald Elementary School and Bird City Elementary School and graduated from McDonald High School in 1971.

On June 2, 1973, he married Barbara Ann Frisbie, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bird City, Kan. They settled on a family farm outside of McDonald where he worked as a farmer and rancher.

He served on the Cheylin School Board, and was Board President from 1999-2001. He also served on the Cheyenne County conservation Board, the St. Joseph Catholic Church Council and the McDonald Equity Co-op Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rita and Carl and his sister Susan Clare.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two sons, Shane and wife, Misten of Portland, Ore., and Travis and wife, Amber Lincoln; one daughter, Kelly and husband Bymer of Lincoln; and one granddaughter.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bird City, Kan., with the Rev. Roger Meitl as Celebrant. Interment will be at the Grace Cemetery in McDonald, Kan.

Visitation is today from 1-7 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home of Atwood and prior to the funeral Mass at the church.

Memorials may be given in his name to the Cheyenne County Conservation District Memorial Fund or St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Williams Funeral Home of Atwood is in charge of arrangements.
