She served with the United States Navy Waves during the Korean War. She retired from the Lowell School Department as a building custodian at the Robinson School. She was a long time member of the former St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Lowell.
She is survived a son, Jeffrey F. Bilby; five daughters, Cynthia Smith, Jennifer Jones, Janice Bilby, Joyce Bernier and her husband Harold and Allison Byron and her husband Thomas; two brothers, Robert Reilly and David Reilly and his wife Linda; four sisters, Alice Young and her husband Donald, Marion Dadoly, Carol Lavallee and her husband Robert and Patricia Diaz and her husband Dennis; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Stephen Ross Bilby.
