Shane Timothy Mabe, age 20, of Nixa, died on Sunday, July 9, 2006. He was born July 14, 1985, the son of Timothy Dale and Patty (Thomas) Mabe.

He was a 2004 graduate of Nixa High School. Shane was the light of his family, a loving son, brother, and uncle. He was always entertaining, and enjoyed making his family and friends laugh. He had a wonderful smile and joyful spirit.

He looked forward to being a third generation family comedian. He worked with the Baldknobbers as a lighting technician and also appeared on stage with his family.

He enjoyed all sports and working on cars, especially Mustangs. He was a hard worker, and didn't hesitate to help anyone. Shane was a Christian and attended Nixa First Assembly.

Survivors include his parents, Tim and Patty Mabe; a brother Brandon Mabe and wife, Jessica; a sister, Breanna Mabe; and nephew, Broden Mabe, all of Nixa; grandparents, Katie Mabe Diekhoff and husband, Bob, and Lowell Thomas and wife, Kathy, all of Nixa; aunts and uncles, Marilyn and Lyn Poitz, and Alisha Thomas, all of Nixa, Jewell and Todd Sorenson, Utah, Don and Darlene Thomas, and Steve Thomas, all of Washington; special cousin "Aunt Renee"; many cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his Papa, Jim Mabe; grandmother, Jewell Thomas; great-grandmother, Gladys Wolfe; great-uncle, Bill Mabe; and cousin, Uncle Dennis Mabe.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 13, in Nixa First Assembly with Pastor Don Blansit officiating.
