Inez Chambless Butts
Inez Chambless Butts, 79, McLoud, died Friday at a Midwest City hospital.
She was born Oct. 28, 1923, in McLoud to John N. and Susan "Rilla" (Richardson) Chambless.
She graduated valedictorian of McLoud High School and later worked as an aircraft inspector for Douglas Aircraft and Tinker Air Force Base.
She married John C. Butts on June 21, 1952, in Okmulgee. She lived in McLoud most of her life, but also lived in Midwest City and Del City. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Midwest City.
Preceding her in death were her parents, three sisters, Mary Brown, Cleo Murphy and Lorena Chambless; four brothers, Ralph, Roscoe, Johnnie and Marvin Chambless.
Surviving are her husband, John C. Butts Sr., of the home; stepson and wife, John C. and Reina Butts Jr. of Magnolia, Texas; sister, Oleta Newton, Shawnee; grandsons, John Earl and Joshua Butts; sisters-in-law, Margaret Chambless of Wayne, Sylvia Chambless of McLoud, Maxine Gasaway of Okmulgee and Vivian McCurley of Okmulgee; brother-in-law and wife, Virgil and Jean Butts of Okmulgee, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Ben Glover officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
