Singer. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she began her career performing on her stage with parents, Ben and Elsie Barton, who were vaudevillians. By age 12, she was singing on radio with Milton Berle on "Gillette's Community Sing" and at age 15 she had her own program "The Eileen Barton Show" in the 1940s. She is best known for the apostrophic hit tune, "If I Knew You Were Comin', I'd've Baked A Cake" (1950). Her other hits included "Would You Believe Me?," "Honey, Won't You Honeymoon with Me?," "Cry," and "You Brought Me a New Kind of Love." She also appeared on the television programs "The Swift Show," "Video Village," and "Toast Of The Town." She died of ovarian cancer in West Hollywood, California.
