The son of Lieut. Francis & Mary (Foster) Peabody, he married (1) Hannah Andrews on November 23, 1665, and (2) Sarah Mosely on November 26, 1703.

He resided at Boxford; made freeman in 1674; was rep. to the Gen. Court 1689-1691; He died July 5, 1720 and his will dated Oct. 17, 1710 was proved August , 1720.

(Perley, Sidney, The History of Boxford, 1880, p. 36 - 39.)

John Peabody was born abt. 1642 at prob. at Hampton, NH, although there is no record of his birth there.

Apparently, there is some confusion about the mother of John Peabody. Although many books say he was the son of Mary Foster, there are other who say he may have been the son of Lydia , Francis' first wife. Read those memorials for more about this.
