Andrew Jackson (Jack) Bogard Jr., whose career ranged from mining to operation of a pack camp, died yesterday at a local hospital after an eight-day illness. He was 63.
Born in Red Bluff, Calif., he was raised in the Goldfield area and became engaged in mining there.
During World War I, he served in the American Expeditionary Forces. After his discharge, he went to Bridgeport, Calif., where he worked as a truck driver. He then moved to Hawthorne where he was employed in a store.
Later, he returned to Bridgeport and carried mail under a stage contract. He and his wife, Lucile, operated Bogard's Pack Camp at Bridgeport for about 15 years. He was a member of Hawthorne Lodge No. 36, F&AM.
Mr. Bogard and his wife had been married 35 years. She resides in Bridgeport.
In addition to his wifo, he is survived by two cousins, Mrs. Pearl Johnson and Mrs. Hazel Greenwall, both of Sacramento, Calif.
