Della King Cook, age 85, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away Friday, November 29, 1996, at the Davis Hospital in Layton, Utah.
She was born October 3, 1911, in Clinton, Utah, the daughter of James Henry and Mary Ellen Patterson King. She married Amos Roy Cook, Jr. in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple on June 2, 1932. He passed away on August 10, 1993.
Della was a life-long resident of West Point, and attended Davis County Public Schools. She was a homemaker, an active member of the West Point Wards, and had many callings in the church during her life. She loved all kinds of sewing, quilting, handwork, and cooking for her family. She and Amos spent many happy winters in Mesa, Arizona.
Della is survived by four sons and two daughters: Farrell (Marilyn), West Point; Noal (Betty Jo), Clinton; Douglas (Sue), Mesa, Arizona; Phillip (Cathy), Syracuse; Shirley (Dennis) Leslie, Firth, Idaho; and Patsy (Richard) Craythorne, West Point. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; three brothers and five sisters: Dale King, West Point; Darrell King, Clinton; LaMar King, North Ogden; Blanche Lish, Brigham City; Lavon Barker, North Ogden; Ellen Bryson, Bountiful; Ruby Hart, Caldwell, Idaho; and Verda Bell, Fairfield, Montana.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Grant and Carl King; a sister, Louise Burningham; two grandsons, Christopher and Cyle Cook; and a granddaughter, Nicole Craythorne.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 3, 1996, at 11 a.m. at the West point 5th L.D.S. Chapel, 3488 West 300 North. Friends and family may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State, and Tuesday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the West Point City Cemetery.
