Mr. Jordan was born to the union of Thomas Alexander Jordan and Sarah Mariah Lowrey, who married in Bibb County, AL on September 26, 1840. He married Martha Ann Jones on December 2, 1868 in Winn Parish, LA.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah Drucilla Lee; and seven siblings.
He was survived by his wife, Martha Jones Jordan; four daughters, Annie Roberta White, Martha Rosa Jordan, Mariah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Jordan, and Josephine Rebecca "Josie" Boyett; two sons, Oscar Aldren Jordan and Mervin Adolphus Jordan; and two brothers, William M. "Billy" Jordan and Thomas Alexander "Alex" Jordan, Jr.
