Voice Actor, he was best known as the voice of the cartoon character, Sherman, from "Peabody's Improbable History", a part of the "Rocky and Bullwinkle Show." Tetley, born Walter Campbell Tetzlaff, was famous as a voice over acter in radio, film and television. A hormonal condition prevented his voice from maturing properly, and thus he made a name for himself playing young boy parts even into middle age.He was most famous for his roles as Leroy Forrester on radio's "The Great Gildersleeve", and Julius Abruzzio on "The Phil Harris Alice Faye Show". Tetley was never able to make it big in films due to the combination of his full grown body and immature voice. He did become famous to a new generation as Sherman in "Peabody's Improbable History", and smaller roles in "The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show". In 1971, Tetley was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident and confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. He developed gastric carcinoma and passed away September 4, 1975 at the age of 60.
