Cordia Lee Humble, 94, of Hooker died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999 at her home.

Born Oct.25, 1904 in Old Hansford which is now Spearman, TX, the daughter of Lee and Mattie Brownlee Parsons. She attended school at Neff School and later graduated from Liberal High School in Liberal, KS before attending beauty school in Wichita Falls, TX and working as a hairdresser.

She was united in marriage to John Fred Humble on Mar. 23, 1928. He died Jan. 5, 1982.

Her love and joy was church, family, friends and art. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hooker.

Those preceding her in death are her parents; husband' daughters, Donna Schwieger and Madgealeen Burgess; grandson, Mike Thurman; two brothers, Harlin Parsons and Preston Parsons; three sisters, Ola Mathes, Bessie Rawson and Gladys Mills.

Survivors include her two sons, John M. and Ann Humble of Hooker and Frank L. and Margie Humble of Hooker; seven grandchildren, Kathy and Jeff Herald, Sharon Anthony, Tami and Hilton Ishimoto, Terri and Kelly Evans, John A. and Leray Humble, Patrick and Julie Boyle and Brian and Jill Boyle; 17 great grandchildren. Kari Richardson, Sara Thurman, Sariah, Sandra, Leila, Michael, Jacob, Jessica and Chelsea Ishimoto, Ryan and Tyler Humble, Tiffani, Levi and Ashley Evans, Brent Herald; one great great grandchild, Conley Richardson.

Also four brothers, Herbert Parsons of Falls Church, VA, Earnest and Ruby Parson of Citrus Heights, CA, Jeff and Pauline Parsons of Klamath Falls, Ore. And Travers and Lois Parsons of Wanett.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13 at the First Baptist Church in Hooker with Rev. Jimmy Don Gibson and Eddy Scoggins officiating.
