Tommy was the first pet that I had. He was not just a "pet" but he was "my baby".

Tommy was born without a tail which caused numerous health problems.

In fact the vet said, that I had more of spine than Tommy had.

You could feel on his back, where his spine stopped.

He was the best "pet" that I could have ever asked for.

Where ever I was, he always wanted to be around my neck. He would just climb up my side to get around my neck.

People would always get a kick when they would see Tommy, sleeping around my neck.

With all of Tommy health problems , we spent alot of money on him at the vet. He was worth every penny that we spent on him.

One time, my husband teased "Tommy" that if he did not quit having all of his health problems, that the next time, he would get gassed. There is no way, "that my husband, would have ever have been gassed." We loved "Tommy" so much.

Tommy was like our first born , because we had him, before we even had our son, Curtis.

Well, we got a kick out of it, because after that Tommy just started rolling over and having a good old time doing that.

My husband, Bob, always laughed about that how Tommy started rolling over , because how my husband teased him, that Tommy would get gassed the next time he had to go to the vet.

My husband, saying that" was nothing but a big joke." My husband always helped everyone, even strangers. With him, there was never a stranger, who he would not help and he would talk to everyone.

My husband, would tease him, to roll over and "play dead".

I think that we owned a percentage of the vet business for all of the money that we had spent on his health bills.

There is no way that my husband would ever hurt Tommy.

My husband, Bob,loved everyone and especially our pets.

Tommy lived to be 18 years old. Tommy even surprised the great vet, Dr. Kirchgatter, how long he lived.

I never knew when he was dying, but I could tell, that he was lossing weight and I knew something was wrong.

I was afraid, to find out if he had cancer so when I was talking to my mom, she said, if I did not want to know exactly what was going on, to just "love him" and that was exactly what I did to his death.

On a Sat. afternoon, when I was holding him, he let out some pain. So after he did that, I knew it was the day he was going to "heaven".

I eventually put him in family room, where in about one hour he passed away peacefully.

I was all depressed and sad that when he was passing away that I had to go into my bedroom.

Strange as it might seem, but when I was in my room, where I can not hear what was going on, I heard Tommy pass away, because I heard a "Cat Meow".

After I heard that, I went and looked and he had passed away.

So I figured that when I heard the "Cat Meow", that was Tommy's saying "Good Bye" to us.

We buried him in our back yard .

"Tommy , I will always love you."

You are deeply loved and missed.

Tommie, was my first cat that I got after I got married.Tommie was like my first child .Tommie, was born without a tail which caused alot of health problems.Tommie, kept getting having urinary problems because he was born without a tail.I found out later on, that the other cats in the litter that were either born with a short tail or no tail at all, all died because they were not taken to the vet. When I have a pet, I take care of them, like I would if they were my own children. My pets are always well taken care of.With all of Tommies health problems, "he lived a long life".He lived 18 years.I had a great vet., Dr. Kirtchcutter, who has passed on, too, was surprised on how long he lived.Tommie had the well to live.If it had not been for Dr. Kirtchcutter, who corrected another vets operation, Tom would not have lived as long as he did.Tommie , always wanted to be with me.He would try and climb up me, and my clothes would always have snag marks on them, because he wanted to be with me.I have numerous pictures where Tommie was around my neck. He loved to be on my neck, and I could walk, and walk, and he would just stay around my neck.Tommie was my collar. When Tommie, kept having health problems, my husband, teased tommy , telling him. he better not get sick again.Well, after that, he never got sick again. My husband taught Tommie to roll over and play dead.Tommie was my special baby, and well never be forgotten. - originally written by the late Phyllis Foster (1947-2021)
