Laverne was a very creative person. She could paint and draw. She loved to read and spent hours on the computer. She was a creative writer. She had a great sense of humor, and could regal us with stories beyond belief. She did beautiful handicrafts. She loved animals, and she never met a stranger. She treated everybody the same. She loved to fish. She always thought of her husband, cooking what he liked to eat, and making sure he ate. If he wanted to do something, it was ok with her. She loved to spend time with her friends and family. She had many flowers and liked any variety, but her favorite was roses. Laverne was a sweet person, who left behind a family who will miss her dearly. We never realize how much a part of our life someone is until they are gone. She never had anything bad to say about anyone. She was content with her life, no matter if she was broke or had money in her pocket. She would help anyone who needed it. Laverne died as a result of injuries from a vehicle accident. She & her husband were riding with a friend when their van ran into a ditch and hit a tree. She was thrown from the car. We are thankful she did not suffer. Bill says she came and asked him if he was ok, even though she died instantly, we know since her last thought would have been of him, her spirit did just that before she went on her final journey to be with the Lord. We are so thankful we still have Bill in our life, we will spend some time helping him deal with her loss. We are also thankful we had Laverne for the time we did. We know she is happy with the Lord, and all of our relatives who have passed on before her.

To LaVerne
Our lives have been shattered,
Since you're no longer here,
Even if we looked forever,
No replacement would compare.
It was so sudden,
You were taken so fast,
Such horror and sadness,
Our hearts could not grasp.
Why you, why me,
We cried and we wailed,
We received not one answer,
We felt we had failed.
We'll linger without you,
Unhappy and alone,
Knowing one day we'll see you,
When we too are called home.
