Obituary from Riser Funeral Home website:

Glenn was born in the rural Cajun area near Church Point, LA on August 30, 1949 and grew up as one of 12 children. He took great pride in his Cajun heritage and delighted in all the Boudreaux jokes. He was a gentle and loving man who never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone. He lived in Lake Charles growing up, moved to Baton Rouge for college, took a job transfer to Monroe in the late 70’s, met and married his wife, and in 1994 moved to rural Caldwell Parish.

He was married to Elaine Hinton in 1982 and was a loving father to John Everett Via, Jr. and Anjelique Via Liles. His greatest joy in life was the day that his granddaughter, Maisy Marie Liles was born. She was the light of his life.

Glenn attended LSU, served his country in the Army in Vietnam, and then worked in the blood banking industry for over 30 years and had a small shade plant nursery at his home. He was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church and the Northeast Louisiana Master Gardener’s Association. He loved “junking”, working on landscaping their country home and deer hunting “from the porch”. But his favorite love in life was the time he spent with his beloved granddaughter, Maisy.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Jack Boudreaux and Lula Savoy Boudreaux; siblings Jack Boudreaux, Hendrick Boudreaux, Loretta Jagneaux and Theresa Brady.

He is survived by his wife, children and grandchild; siblings: Eldene Boudreaux, brother-in-law, Dr. Willie Jagneaux, Floyd Boudreaux and his wife Sandra, Linda Morgan & her husband Jimmy, brother-in-law and Godfather Virgil Brady, Faye Boudreaux, Drucilla Boudreaux, Carl Boudreaux & his wife Robin; son-in-law, Dr. Doug Liles, mother-in-law Effie May Hinton, sister-in-law Carolyn Hinton, Sylvia Hinton Wilhite and spouse Lilburn. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces & nephews, and great-great nieces & nephews, God children Sadrian Merritt Alderson, Cale Merritt and Joel Back.

At his request a “Celebration of Life” with a potluck dinner on the grounds, music and memorial will be held on Saturday, May 24th, at his home at 126 Maggie Lane, Columbia, Louisiana beginning at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Whit Stodgill will officiate.

All memorials should be made to Grace Episcopal Middle School, 1400 North 4th St., Monroe, LA 71201.
