Marie I do enjoy my memories of you. One of many evenings you babysat me and never was I to fond of this. I clearly remember once when you told me the following story. You began with, " you think George Washingtom is a great man - let me tell you about Napoleon". You told about Napoleon attending a city fair. He passed a hawker who challenged every one to balance an egg on a stick. Napoleon picked up the egg and jambed it down on the stick. Being who he was no one could contest the technique so by default he won the contest. I remember your homemade catsup, I wouldnt eat it then but wouldnt I love to have a bite now. Also your 3 cornered brochen buns. Actually all your cooking was wonderful. I remember the nasty looking plum pudding and all the mold. This was made first day of spring and set in a dark cabinet. It molded and cured until Christmas day! How I would love to sample this now. You excelled at all the skills, crochet, knit, quilting etc. I remember you making soap - now the haz mat team would put every thing in quarentine. You ran a resturant with Cora Pringle long before I knew you. Lucky were the customers to have been there. The recipies were Alsatian and the food must have been outstanding.

Your crocheted table clothes ( large table) were a wonder to behold. I don't ever remember being at your house withouth the quilting frame being up somewhere. There were still quilting parties then, I remember you saying you would tear out all the sloppy sewing by other ladies. Then you would redo their work.

Godspeed Marie, fare thee well. Your home wine was remarkable and always welcome to the table.

Nov. 10, 2021 Eureka! I found a newspaper clipping published years ago referring to Cora Pringles "Tea Room". The year was not given. Cora's house, your house just behind are all gone now. Time Flies.
