Raiford Kennedy was born Oct 28, 1843 son of Edward Kennedy, Sr & his 2nd wife, Charlotte Sikes. In 1869 Raiford married Hannah Hammock born Nov 8, 1849. In 1872 Lenora was born to Raiford & Hannah. Lenora later married William A. Kennedy. Their 4 children were Eula Williard, Mary Ellen, William Gladston and Hardee Kennedy. Nancy Agnes was born to Raiford and Hannah about 1874 & married Josh Stubbs. Levi Holmes Kennedy was born to Raiford and Hannah on June 7, 1876. The 4th child of Raiford & Hannah was Martin Marquiz "Mack" born April 12, 1878. Mack married Dicy Deloach. Henry Ashford was born in 1880 & married Emma Deloach. Nan & Josephine were the last 2 children born to Raiford & Hannah. Raiford died Nov 21, 1886, age 43, leaving Hannah with 7 children to raise. Hannah died on Sept 5, 1909.

Levi and Miranda had twins that did not survive & are buried at Brewton Cemetery in Hagan, GA. Eva was born in 1898. A daughter born in 1899 died. Wallace was born in 1903, Ida Bell in 1905 and Eva died in 1906. Levi & Hannah helped raise William Gladston after his mother, Lenora, died in 1906 and then his father in 1913. Wallace son of Levi & Miranda was a dwarf and died in 1924 at age 21. So Ida Bell was the only child of Levi Holmes & Miranda Etta to marry and have children. Ida Bell married George Brinson Hodges, Sr. They had 2 sons; George Brinson Hodges, Jr (my father) born January 7, 1923 and Holmes Wallace Hodges born May 2, 1926. Brinson and Ida Bell divorced, she married Carl C. Collins, son Carl Lee Collins, born May 17, 1936, their only child.
