Alice Adams, wife of Joseph Adams (1823-1900). Daughter of B. H. Pepper and his wife, Mahitable (Mable) Smith, of Connecticut. Married Joseph Adams in Sept., 1863. Sister of Hart D. Pepper.

Many at Funeral of Mrs. Alice Adams
The funeral of Mrs. Alice Adams, 85, for many years a resident of Stockton, was held yesterday from B.C. Wallace chapel. Rev. R. H. Sink, pastor emeritus of the Congregational Church officiated at the chapel and at the grave. The burial service of Lebanon Rebekah Lodge was conducted at the chapel. Mrs. Adams having been for many years an esteemed member of the order. The funeral was largely attended and there were numerous beautiful floral offerings.
The deceased resided in Stockton for thirty-five years and left here about twenty years ago to make her home with her daughters, Mary A. Howard of Oakland and Nellie N. Peterson of Santa Rosa. She was a frequent visitor to Stockton during her non-residence.
Besides the two daughters the deceased is survived by a son, Joseph E. Adams and the following Grandchildren: Mrs. Robert Gray, Walter D., Charles S., Stella and Emery Adams of Stockton, Ruth Howard of Oakland and Frederick Peterson of Santa Rosa. She was a sister of Mrs. S.D. Webster of San Diego, the late Mrs. C. Palmer and Hart V. Pepper of Stockton.
