Father of Richard, John, Kay and Curtis. Step-father of Robert Howick. Brother of Russell, Vernon, Marvel LaRene and the late Ethel Moreen & Mervyn. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren. Son of John C. and Frances M. (Barnhart) Gnass.

John was a retired electician for Harlan Electric, a U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran of WW II and a member of Electical Workers Local No. 58 of Detroit.
