BOTTOM
Mrs. Bottom, wife of Squire Henry P. Bottom and a daughter of Dr. David Hart, deceased, died, May 18,1898, at her late home on Perryville battle ground, near Perryville. She was in the 76th year of her age and had been a devoted member of the Christian church for more than half a century. She was a Christian indeed, and her noble charities to the wounded soldiers that were left on the battle field, both federal and confederate, have long since been written in the record book above. She leaves an aged husband and two sons, Messrs. Samuel Daviess Bottom, Rowen Bridges Bottom to mourn the loss of a true and faithful wife and kind and indulgent mother. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Eli H. Godby, of the M. E. church, and the interment was in Perryville cemetery. The large concourse of relatives and friends that followed the remains to their last earthly resting place evidenced the highest regard for the deceased.
