Born August 30, 1939, in Miley, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Laura Polk.
Mrs. Carter was a member of First Baptist Church. She was retired from Asten Hill and was a homemaker.
She was the widow of the late Heyward B. Harrison, Sr. and the late Lionel Carter and surviving are her sons, Heyward "Buddy" Harrison, Jr. and his wife Mae of Round O, and Robert H. Harrison, Sr. and his wife Margery of Cullman, AL; daughters, Lucy Fahringer of Poquoson, VA and Margaret Dodgin and her husband Ray of Lincolnton, NC; brother, J.E. Polk of TX; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Scholsser and two grandsons, Butch Harrison and Jason Driggers.
