Clarinda Knapp Allen, daughter of Calvin and Deborah Hopkins Knapp. Clarinda was born in Bethleham, Litchfield Co., Conn. and married Andrew Lee Allen December 11, 1824 in Cattaraugus Co., New York where they lived until sometime between Sept 1833 and December 1837. They left their home and farm and took their family on their journey to Salt Lake Utah. Their son Charles Hopkins Allen, kept a wonderful journal of their trip across the country.
