Emma Victoria LINGO CHESSHIRE was the dau. of Gideon W. LINGO & Naomi Ann BOLON of Belmont Co, OH. She m. Geo. M. CHESSHIRE in 1877.

OBIT.: "Emma Lingo CHESSHIRE - [1945 written in] - Emma Victoria LINGO was born at Speidel, Ohio, June 26, 1857, and passed away, after an illness of several months, at her home in Coin, Iowa, April 23, 1945, at the age of 87 years, 10 months. She was the seventh child in a family of 15, all of whom preceded her in death.
She came to Page County, Iowa, in 1875, and was united in marriage to George M. CHESSHIRE in 1877, who preceeded her in death on October 26, 1939.
To this union were born six children: Two sons who passed away in early childhood; Bertha DUTTON, of Kansas City, Mo; Lottie POLSLEY, of Coin; Joe of Coin; Mattie LISTEN of Audubon, Iowa.
In early womanhood Mrs. CHESSHIRE united with the Baptist church of Northboro and after moving to the farm west of Coin, transferred her membership to the Coin Methodist church.
Mrs. CHESSHIRE possessed an abundance of ambition. Mrs. CHESSHIRE has been in failing health during the past year. She was confined to her bed September 15, 1944.
She leaves her four children; nine grandchildren, three of whom are in the service of their country (Wallace and Neil CHESSHIRE are in India, Beulah Mae LISTON SMITH is with the Spars in New York City); six great grandchildren; also Paul HUMPHREY, of Omaha, who lived in the home for a number of years.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, April 28 in the Coin Methodist church, conducted by the minister, K. E. NESBITT. Music was provided by Mrs. Wm. HINES, Ed HENDERSON, Mr. and Mrs. Earl ANDERSON, accompanied by Mrs. Roy HAYNER, church pianist. The pallbearers were Charles DUTTON, Robert and Herbert and J. B. CHESSHIRE, and Bruce FOCHT, Miss Eva BASAKER, Mrs. Lon CHARMICHAEL and Mrs. A. V. ANDERSON were in charge of the flowers.
Besides the three children who live away from Coin, other immediate members of the family who attended the service for a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Paul HUMPHREY, Mr and Mrs. FOCHT, all of Omaha, and Mrs. Charlotte ARNOLD, of Kansas City, MO."
