Born in Pawtucket, RI, daughter of the late Ambrose and Eva (nee Pariseau) Houston, she was formerly known as Sr. M.Cyprian Houston, RSM, before she took back her name that was given to her at birth, Lillian Houston.
She entered the Sisters of Mercy on Feb 2, 1936, and professed her vows Aug 16, 1938. She spent much of her religious life at the former St. Aloysius Home in Greenville as a group supervisor for children. Sister also spent more than 20 years on the staff at the Mount St.Rita Health Centre before retiring in 1993.
She leaves 3 sisters, Sr. Edna Houston, RSM, Sr. M.Monice Houston, RSM, both of St.Mary Convent Bay View in Riverside, and Marjorie Harker of Cumberland RI; a brother, Peter A. Houston of Cumberland; and several neices and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Houston.
