Judge Paul X Williams Jr, 67, of Booneville, Arkansas passed away Monday, October 3, 2005, in Booneville. He was born January 13, 1938, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Like his father before him, Paul X Williams Jr. spent his life dedicated to the study and practice of law. After graduating from the law school at the University of Arkansas, Paul X. moved to Booneville. Shortly after returning he was appointed Deputy Proscuting Attorney for South Logan County. He was also a delegate to the Constitutional convention for 1969-1970.

In 1975, he was elected prosecuting attorney for the 15th Judicial District and served two terms until 1979.

Williams served as city attorney from January 1979 to December 1990 and continued to hold that position until his death. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Boonville. Paul X had many hobbies he was an avid golfer, he enjoyed cooking and reading.

Graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Booneville under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters and their husbands, Greg, Jack and Brian; his mother; two sisters; two brothers and one grandson.
