June was born to the late William Henry Clay Lawson Sr. and Nellie Gray Lawson. She was one of five children and had four children of her own and several grandchildren. Her husband Tommy preceded her in death. She worked for Dixie furniture in Lexington NC. June was always known for remembering everyone's birthdays. Even though she rarely got to see some of her nieces and nephews, due to divorces, she would always send them a card on their birthdays with a dollar bill inserted just to let them know she still was thinking about them. June passed peacefully at her home in her sleep with an afgan she was crocheting in her lap.
