Served as a Private with Troop C in the 8th Cavalry. Killed by Apache Indians at Dry Creek.George Gibson was from the state of Pennsylvania. He was a Pvt in the 8th Cavalry. He and other soldiers were ambushed and murdered near a place known today as Soldier Hill,formerly in Socorro County, New Mexico. Mr. Gibson's body was taken to the WS ranch near Alma, New Nexico for burial. He is buried in a common grave with three other men, Frank E. Hutton, Harry E. McMillan and Daniel Collins. This cemetery is near the WS Ranch, on a very steep little hill.
