Lucretia (Lucy) was the daughter of Allen Ausbon and Rosetta (Rosa) Brown Hudson. She was born in Provencal, Natchitoches Paris, La. Her maternal grandparents were Charles Warren(b in Mass) and Mary Jane Menchew Brown. Her paternal grandparents were William Henry (GA) and Mary/Melinda Ellen(LA) McCollumb. Her siblings were: Mary Ellen, Lee Ola, Ethel Eailie, Maggie Elvina, Elizabeth, Sammie E, Beulah Mae, William Elbert, Frank Ausbon, and Rosa Belle

Lucy was an assistant postmistress in Pineland Texas when Norvel L (Andy) Andrews came to town as a relief telegrapher for Santa Fe Railroad. They were married 14 Oct 1939. They had two children, Norva Lou and Norvel Lee (Sonny). She was a supportive and loving mother and the "perfect" Grandmother to her only granchild, Steven.

Lucy was active in First Baptist Church, the Parents & Teachers Association in Galveston, and was a much sought after substitute teacher. She was active as an election precinct worker in Galveston and finally as a Precinct Chairman in Chicago.

She had Alzheimers Disease when she passed away in Dayton Ohio where she had moved to be near her daughter and family.
