Phineas Nash Foster, who was seven years old when his father came to the Wyoming Valley, lived more than seventy-five years, and died on his large farm in Jackson Township.

He was the son of Edward and Lowly (Nash) Foster. He married Mary Bailey (Johnson) Bulford, a widow with three young children, Olive Ann, John Jacob, and Lord Butler Bulford. Phineas and Mary had one son, Charles Dorrance Foster.

His wife was the daughter of Jacob Williamson Johnson and Anna Bailey Johnson.
