This a story I found in my Mothers' journal about how Minnie Mae died. Minnie was two years old and my Mother was three when this happened.
I remember momma left Minnie and I to play in the yard. She told us not to go into the house. She went out a little ways from the house to pick up pecans. Se could probably hear us if we called her, when little Minnie caught on fire. I guess we were to scared to call because she told us not to go in the house. I tried putting her out but all her hair and clothes burnt off then we walked out to where momma was.
Minnie Mae died from complications of severe burns.
