Mr. Balting, a mail carrier with the U. S. Postal Service, had been a member of the Faith Presbyterian Church, Cape Coral. A 1963 graduate, he had attended Edison Community College and Community School of Adult Education in Florida.
A son of Paul F. and Dorothy (Simpson) Balting, he was born in Shelbyville on 10 Sep 1945. He was married 10 Aug 1984, to Del Baratelli, who survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Balting, Shelbyville; a son, Richard Todd Balting, Shelbyille; a daughter, Donell Balting, LaBelle, FL; brothers, Jim Balting, David Balting and Tom Balting, all of Shelbyville; and sisters, Mrs. Robert (Martha) Kehrt, Mrs. Jerry (Phyllis) McCain and Mrs. Jeff (Linda) Wright, all of Shelbyville.
Services were at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Murphy Mortuary with Rev. Richard Clark officiating. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery.
