Merchant Dies

Funeral services for Abraham Andrews, who died Monday morning following a two months illness, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 p. m., at the First Baptist church with Rev. W. T. Cost, officiating.

Mr. Andrews had been in failing health for some weeks and when his condition continued to grow steadily worse he was taken to Oklahoma City for medical treatment. He was brought home two weeks ago and remained in the Sayre hospital until his death.

Mr. Andrews and his family moved to Sayre in 1938 where he was associated with his sons, Philip and Lampert, in the operation of the Phillips Food Market.

He was born February 20, 1877 in Syria and came to America while a young boy. In 1911 he was married to Anna Yarid.

Survivors include his wife, five sons, Philip, Lampert, Hannibal and Joe, all of the home address and Sgt. Louis, who is with the army air corp in England and five daughters, Mrs. Blanche Swyden and Mrs. Lena Jones of Clinton, Mrs. Alice Turner, Mrs. Edna Luper and Camilla of Sayre. One sister, Mrs. Mary Kouri of Granite and one brother, Shaker of Oklahoma City also survive.

Interment was in the Sayre Doxey cemetery with Littrell-Scroggins in charge of arrangements.

Bearers for the service were Mitchell Andrews, Ellis Andrews, Sam Homsey, George Shadid, N. Swyden, K. Swyden.
