A wake service for Meredith Magoosh Begay, 68, of Mescalero was held at 6 p.m., May 2 at Elk Springs with funeral services following on Wednesday, May 3, at 10 a.m. A burial will follow at Elk Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Begay passed away Friday, April 28, in Alamogordo. She was born May 2, 1937 at Mescalero and had lived there all of her life. She had worked as a social worker for B.I.A.
She is survived by her huband, Keith Begay; two daughters, Zelda Yazza and Sharon Magoosh-Begay; a sister, Janice Via; 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and she was preceded in death by a son, Zachery Begay.
