Oscar C. Cannon, Sr. was the son of Isaiah Cannon and Maggie Cannon. He had one brother named John born in 1877.
He married Matilda S. Cannon in 1904 and they had a daughter Margarette in 1909; son Oscar C. Cannon, Jr., in 1912; and son Franklin in 1919. He enlisted into the US Military on September 9, 1918 serving in WWI. He was listed on his records and in the Census as an "oysterman/shell fisherman in the bay".
