Major League Baseball Player. The brother of baseball player Marv Throneberry, he was signed as an amateur free agent by the Boston Red Sox in 1950. Born in Fisherville, Tennessee, on June 22, 1931, the 6'0, and 190lbs, Throneberry made his major league debut on April 15, 1952, and played his final game on July 19, 1961. He played for the Boston Red Sox from 1952 to 1957, Washington Senators from 1959 to 1960, and the Los Angeles Angels in 1961. After his baseball career he became a professional bird dog trainer. Throneberry passed away in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 66, in 1999.
