NEWSPAPER REPORT: Open House to Honor Owen Aullts on Golden Wedding Anniversary An open house and an intermittent program will be held to honor Mr. And Mrs Owen Ault of Cedar Valley on their golden wedding anniversary. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Cedar Valley Chapel on August 23, Wednesday, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. They request no gifts. Mr. And Mrs Ault were married August 23, 1922. He was born May 20, 1899 in Cedar Fort to John and Elva Irene Ault. He was educated in Cedar Fort and Manning. Mr. Ault recalls that one of his teachers at the school was LDS church official, Oscar McConkie. He remembers a happy childhood in Manning and Mercur where his father was engineer on the railroad between Salt Lake and Mercur. He still enjoys looking around Manning and Mercur for old relics of the railroad. His nickname AHap is indicative of his good nature and pleasant way. He was a good ball player and was offered a place on the Eureka ball team which was one of the best at that time. His children state that he has been a good neighbor, a good father and a good provider. Mr. Ault has been active church worker where he has served as Mutual president and has done a lot of temple work. He has enjoyed taking lead parts in plays and programs. He has been a good citizen in his community, helping people with both money and service whenever called upon. Mrs. Ault better known as AVinnie@, was born March 24, 1904 to Orson and Ida Hacking.

She attended schools in Cedar Fort and Lehi. She graduated in three years from Lehi and was second in the class. Mrs. Ault, and Mrs Ernst (Melba Cook) Hindley were the first Cedar Fort students to attend school in Lehi. Vinnie spent a very nice childhood and when she was still very young the family moved to Roosevelt. Mrs Ault recalls that she rode a horse all the way and drove the family herd of cows. She has been active in her community and church, serving as Mutual president, in the Relief Society presidency and teacher in all the organizations. She too has done a lot of temple work. Vinnie was seriously injured in an automobile wreck two years ago but has made a good recovery and is back leading a very busy and productive life. Mr. And Mrs. Ault moved to Butte, Montana right after their marriage but have lived most of their married life in Cedar Valley. The couple have the following children: Mrs, Louis Dean (Virginia) Colman, Covina, Calif.; Louis Owen, Midvale; Howard Raymond, Am. Fork; Leo Hacking, Pleasant Grove; and Leonard Orson, Tooele. OBITUARY AND FUNERAL REPROT: Alvin O. Ault Dies at Home - Funeral services for Alvin Owen Ault, 78, who died of a lingering illness at his home Friday, September 23, were held Tuesday in the Cedar Fort LDS Ward Chapel. Mr. Ault was born May 20, 1899 in Cedar Fort to John Henry and Elva Irene Carson Ault. He married Vinnie Hacking August 23, 1922 in Farmington. The marriage was solemnized later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A sheep rancher by occupation, Mr. Ault had served as an MIA president and was a pitcher on the town's baseball team. Survivors include his wife; four sons and one daughter, Louis Owen Ault, Midvale; Howard Raymond Ault, American Fork; Leo Hacking Ault, Pleasant Grove; Leonard Orson Ault, Grantsville; Mrs Louis Dean (Virginia) Coleman, corina, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers Pharis T. Ault and Raymond V. Ault both of Cedar Fort; Clyde H. Ault, American Fork.

Berry Anderson, counselor in the Cedar Valley Wrd Bishopric officiated and Mrs. Leah McKinney played the prelude and postlude music. The family prayer was offered by Louis Owen Ault. James Owen Ault spoke the invocation. A musical selection AGoin' Home@ was sung by Allen R. and Linda (Ault) Giles. Consoling remarks were offered by Mr. Anderson and the biographical sketch was read by Peggy Ault Fisher. Speakers who comforted the congregation with words concerning the many kindnesses and qualities of Mr. Ault were Steven Howard Ault and Howard Clark Hacking. An organ medley was rendered by Janis Smart and musical selections AThat Silver Haired Daddy of Mine@ and Just A Closer Walk With Thee@ were presented by Mrs. Eva Yates. Louis Dean Coleman offered the benediction and the dedicatory prayer was spoken by Howard Raymond Ault. Interment was in Cedar Fort Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Louis Owen Coleman, Gary Dean Coleman, Leo John Ault, Arlun Hacking Ault. Mark Reed Ault, Brent Orson Ault and honorary pallbearers Shane Bryant Ault, Wayne Owen Ault, Pharis T. Ault, Clyde H. Ault, Raymond V. Ault and Ben McKinney. The beautiful display of flowers were cared for by the Cedar Valley Ward Relief Society. (Lehi Free Press 29 Sept, 1977)
