Harry C. Corley, 79, of Shelbyville, died Monday, June 9, 2003, at the home of his step daughter, whom he raised.

Born Dec. 19, 1923, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Chester Corley and Alice (Herndon) Corley Dake. He married 2nd, Sarah Jane Morford on Sept. 23, 1954, and she survives.(Married first Priscilla Eades, one child Peggy of this union)

Other survivors include one son,(Harry Chester,Jr) Chip (wife, DeeAnna) Corley of St. Paul, 2 grandchildren, Scott Corley, Alex Corley. A step daughter P.J. (husband, Mac) McAnelly of Fountaintown; a daughter Peggy (husband Ray Bostic), 5 grandchildren, William Stroup, Cheryl Cash, Stephanie Lovins, Priscilla Stroup, and Sheila Andrews; three great grandchildren, Mariah, Makenzie and Jacob; three brothers, Robert Corley, Carl R. Corley and Norman "Butch" Corley, all of Shelbyville; two sisters, Doris Lasalle of Detroit, Mich., and Mary (husband, Leon) Richart of Florida.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, George Corley and Maurice Corley; and two sisters, Frances Taylor and an infant.

Mr. Corley was employed as a trim and finish carpenter, retiring in 1985.

He served in the United States Coast Guard.

Mr. Corley was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, had been a member of Local No. 2108 and was a former member of the American Legion and Eagles.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at Carmony-Ewing Broadway Street Funeral Home, 232 W. Broadway St.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by local service organizations.
