Helen F. Bender, age 98, of Worthington, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton surrounded by her family. Helen was born in Knox County on November 23, 1917 to Oliver and Nellie (Thorne) Reel. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Church in Worthington for many years.
Helen is survived by her son, Gary (Debbie) Bender of Worthington, daughter-in-law, Judith Bender of Worthington, grandchildren, Diane (Bryan) Wilson of Bloomfield, David (Heather) Bender of Plainfield, Nicholl (Dan) Luse of Bloomfield, Nicholas Bender of Worthington, and great-grandchildren, Matthew Wilson, Kristen Bender, Jennifer Hart, Thomas Bender, Brianne Wilson, Kellen Luse, and Elynn Luse.
Helen was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, N. Wayne Bender, son, Max Bender, brothers, Merlin Reel and Harold "Cotton" Reel, and sister Dorothy Baker.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
