Arthur Monroe Peach was the son of John Hixon Peach and and Susannah Edwards Peach. As Professor Arthur Monroe Peach, Sr. he was the first Master of the school in Andalusia, Alabama that became Andalusia High School. He was married to Lila Lea Andrews Peach. She was from Union Springs,Alabama the daughter of college president Dr. Allen S. Andrews. Ten days after their child was born Lila Andrews died. At her death, Mr. Peach returned to Perote to his parents home. He contracted tuberculosis and lived in a tent on their property. He died two years later and then was buried beside his wife at Oak Hill Cemetery.
