Mrs. Mattie Carr Marchman Tanner, of 3416 Danville St., died Thursday in an Augusta hospital.
Funeral services will be announced by Platt's Funeral Home.

She was a native of Hancock County and had lived in Augusta for 15 years. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Effie Reynolds Carr. She was a member of Fairmount Baptist Church, Sparta, Georgia, and was the widow of Pete Marchman and Roger L. Tanner, Sr.

Survivors include two sons, Gene Marchman, Hephzibah, Ga., and Richard Marchman, Augusta; five daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Askew and Mrs. Woodrow Johnson both of Sparta, Ga., Mrs. Helen Batchelor, White Plains, Ga., Mrs. R.C. Cheek, Macon, Ga., and Mrs. Kate Johnson, Augusta; five sisters, Mrs. Lucy Sloan, Mrs. Mary Roberts and Mrs. Farris Johnson, all of Milledgeville, Ga., Mrs. Horace Hyman, Thompson, Ga., and Mrs. Bernard Hyman, Camak, Ga. 25 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

The family will be at the home of her son, Gene Marchman, Church Street, Hephzibah, Ga.
