Services for Mary Lynell Cox Allen will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at White Columns Funeral Home with burial in Baldwin Memorials Gardens. Mrs. Allen, 59, died Saturday, May 5, 2001. A native of Laurens County, she was the daughter of the Willie Verlinder Cox, She had lived in Gordon for many years. Mrs. Allen was a retired Probate Court secretary, Combine Insurance agent and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter Lana McFather of McDonough, son Aubrey Allen of Greensboro, N.C., stepsons Sam Barrett and Jason Barrett, both of Gordon; mother Grace Cox of Milledgeville; sister Joyce McKeldry of Robinsville, N.C.; brother David Cox of Milledgeville, and seven grandchildren.
