What can I say about Douglas. Douglas was the sweetest most loving person I know. He was mentally challenged just a little not a whole lot. He always participated in the Special Olympics and did quite well. He ran five miles every day and stayed in pretty good shape. He loved children and they loved him. He would race all the kids on his block and most of the time he would beat them. He could remember numbers very well. He remembered everyone that he knew birthday dates. He would call my kids up and wish them a happy birthday and then would say, "don't tell my mom I called." It was a joke with everyone that knew him. Douglas attended our church faithfully until his mom got sick and couldn't make it as often as they wished. I don't know how long Douglas was sick, but when I saw him in December I was really shocked. He had lost a lot of weight and looked so thin. I found out that he had cancer and my heart dropped. Not Douglas I thought. He was the sunshine when he walked into any room. He always had a smile on his face and nothing bothered him. (I think.) He loved sports and he could outdance anyone. I will really miss him. Douglas, Jesus has taken a very special angel from us and now you are truly sitting at the feet of your Lord and Savior. You are free from all the pain and you can dance forever without getting tired. Give Tutuila a big hug and kiss from me and I send you lots and lots of hugs and kisses too.
