Ruby Roberta (Smith) Frey, 83, died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at Misericordia Convalescent Home. She was the loving wife of Walter J. Frey. Funeral Wednesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, York, her pastor, Rev. David J. Taualofai of Westminster Presbyterian Church, York, officiating. Burial in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born in York November 7, 1922, she was a daughter to the late Andrew and Jessie (Plaine) Smith. She worked as a Staff Attendant for over 20 years for Pilgrim Psychiatric Center in Long Island, NY, where she retired in 1979. Mrs. Frey enjoyed traveling, having visited Florida, Wyoming, and New York, to name a few. She also enjoyed word puzzles and did them daily. In addition to her husband, Walter, Mrs. Frey is survived by sons James A. and K. Walter Frey of York; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Frey is preceded in death by brothers D. Walter, Ira, and Jack Smith; and sisters Edith Keefer, J. Viola Herrald, Hazel L. Rohraugh, and Ann Guertin. [York Daily Record]
