Went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 3, 2006 in Kalamazoo. Cora was born September 20, 1918 in Plainwell, the daughter of Frederick and Anna (Brunsteen) Penny, and had been a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. She was a member of the Milwood Christian Reformed Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. On October 11, 1940, she married Julius Bonselaar, and together they owned and operated the Bonselaar Trucking Company for 37 years. They also deeply enjoyed participating in showing and parading their ponies. Julius preceded her in death on August 1, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Lou Bakhuyzen; a grandson, Nicholas Bakhuyzen; a grandson-in-law, Adam Northup; 2 brothers, Cornelius Penny and Frederick Penny; a sister, Ann Barker. Cora is survived by two daughters, Barbara (David) Eshuis of Delton, and Judy (Rob) Moerman of Kalamazoo; a son-in-law, Hendrik (Martee) Bakhuyzen of Kalamazoo; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great- great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Koetje of Kalamazoo; five sisters-in-law, Marian Penny of Kalamazoo, Wilma (John) Bultje of Parchment, Josephine (John) Razenberg of Kalamazoo, Hester Koning of Kalamazoo, and Virginia Bonselaar Spitters of Kalamazoo; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Milwood Christian Reformed Church, 3306 Lovers Lane, with Rev. Loren Kotman and Mr. Joel Vande Werken, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Milwood Christian Reformed Church Mission Fund or the Gideon's.
