Jabez Proctor(1780-1839) was the son of Capt Leonard Proctor(1734-1827) & his wife Mary Keep(1744-1827)

Jabez married Betsey Parker(1792-1871)
Their Children were:( all born in Proctorsville,Vermont
1. Harriet Elizabeth Proctor(1819-1852)married Stoddard B Colby
2. Arabella Proctor(1820-1822)
3. Barron Lucien Proctor(1822-1851)
4. Arabella Gertrude Proctor(1825-1846) not married
5. Hon. Redfield Proctor(1831-1908)married Emily J Dutton

Jabez Proctor was a merchant & manufacturer. He went into
partnership with his brother John Proctor (J&J Proctor)
1st business was a general store. Then they built the first Hotel in Proctorsville, VT & 2 large dwelling houses. Aftewr 20 years, they decided to separate their businesses, Jabez kept the Hotel & John kept the store.

Jabez in 1822, was chosen as a freeman, a member of the Governors Council for 5 yrs. He was also a Mason, but was kicked out in 1831.
