ACCIDENTAL RIFLE SHOT KILLS MAN: A Rt. 3, Milledgeville man died from an accidental shot from a rifle fired by a younger brother on Tuesday, October 14.
Baldwin County Chief Deputy Sheriff Mack Hall identified the man as William Thomas "Skibo" Batchelor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Buster Batchelor of Rt. 3, Hall said Batchelor died from a loss of blood after being shot by his brother.
The younger Batchelor was attempting to unjam the gun inside a room of the house when it accidentally discharged and a bullet struck the older brother in the groin: The bullet split the man's renal artery, resulting in a great loss of blood, the deputy said.
Coroner M.E. Godard Jr. ruled the death was accidental. Funeral services for Batchelor were held last Thursday.
