Cora Casias, 88, died April 1, 2006, in Raton. She was born June 28, 1917, in Sweetwater to Juan and Adela Lopez Sandoval. She was a long time resident of Raton and a member of St. Patrick's-St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She worked for Miners' Hospital for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Casias in 1997.
She is survived by daughters Gloria Coleman and husband Bill, St. George, Utah; Mary Ellen Benavidez, Lancaster, Calif.; JoAnn Fresquez and husband Jake, Judy Casias, Rebecca Torrez and husband Louie, all of Raton; sons Harold Sanchez, Pueblo, Colo.; Charlie Sanchez, Raton; William (Dennis) Casias and wife Christine, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Karl (Andrew) Casias and wife Valerie, Meeker, Colo.; 32 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren also survive.
A Rosary Devotional Service will be held Wednesday, April 5, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's-St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with Father Daniel Balizan as the celebrant. Rite of committal and interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggets contributions to the Quality Quantum Hospice in Las Vegas, N.M.
