Rosary for Cleo Joseph Ahlers, 59, will be recited at 7 tonight at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Priest River, where he was a member. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Spirit Lake with Sherman Funeral Home in charge.
-Mr. Ahlers died at his home Tuesday after a long illness.
-He was born Jan. 16, 1927, at Greencreek, Idaho. He was employed by Bonner County for 21 years and ranched in the Priest River area for 30 years.
-Mr. Ahlers was a veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of Edgemere Grange and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Cottonwood.
-He married Anna M. Ross in 1953 at Cottonwood.
-Survivors include his wife, at the home; five sons, Edward Ahlers of Vay, Idaho, Gerald Ahlers of Post Falls, Richard Ahlers of Cocolla and Timothy and Ernest Ahlers, both at home; six daughters, Kathleen Doyle of Otis Orchards, Wash., Mary Heimsoth of Athol and Debbie, Bette, Millie and Darlene Ahlers, all at the home; two sisters, Dorene Kurdy of Coeur d'Alene and Ellen Wassmuth of Cottonwood; four brothers, Herb Ahlers of Cottonwood, Robert Ahlers of Spokane, John Nuxoll of Chester, Mont., and Greg Nuxoll of Lewiston; and 14 grandchildren.
