"Jake". Obituary: The Frankfort Morning Times, Friday, April 13, 1951, p. Garmel Armstrong, Native Resident Of County, Dies. Garmel "Jake" Armstrong, 51, a lifelong resident of the county and for 24 years an employee of the Ingram-Richardson Company, died yesterday at 7:20 a.m. at his home, 602 Hoke Avenue. Mr. Armstrong had been ill eight months. He was born at Boyleston, July 11, 1899, the son of John and Ida (Brant) Armstrong. On May 19, 1934 he was married to Carrie Spray Kreisher, whose death occurred on September 25, 1939. On October 23, 1943, he was married to Geneva Spray Davis, who survives. Others surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Jean; two stepchildren, Sharon Jane Davis and Marilyn Kreisher Perkins; a sister, June Curbeaux; five brothers, Charles, Ciell, Orestus, Arthur and Warren; two sisters, Mary and Ella Krengle, preceded him in death. Mr. Armstrong was a member of the Hillisburg Masonic Lodge and the Modern Woodmen of American. After 10 a.m. today friends may call at the Goodwin funeral home where rites will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. C. H. Wallace. Interment will be at the Whiteman Cemetery, south of Michigantown.
